NEW SPANISH LAW MAKES SOLAR ENERGY THE MOST ATTRACTIVE INVESTMENT AVAILABLE TODAY IN SPAIN

October 9th saw the introduction of a new Royal Decree for solar electricity installations here in Spain.  As a result of a huge increase in the number of enquiries Solar in Spain will be holding a seminar to explain how the new law can benefit householders looking to reduce their electricity bills. The Introduction to Solar energy seminar will be held at Javea Golf Club on 27th November.

Solar in Spain will also be presenting the latest in solar energy technology, the Solmate Thermodyn, a solar water heating panel that works 24 hours a day regardless of the weather AND it does not have to be installed on your roof. It can be placed on a balcony, on a wall or even inside a carport! Now solar energy is a viable option for apartments with no roof space!

Presentations will be made about the various applications for renewable energy and Solar in Spain staff will be on hand to answer all your questions regarding solar electricity, solar pool heating, solar water heating, solar ventilation systems & wood pellet heating systems.

Are you worried about switching on your central heating this winter because it´s so expensive to run?  Solar in Spain customers have reduced their central heating bills by over 50% by changing to wood pellet heating systems. Come and find out how it works.

Government grants are available for solar energy hot water, biomass boilers and off-grid solar electric systems that are certificated by the Spanish Government and installed by accredited installers.  Solar in Spain is one of the few accredited companies that have been working for many years with the government’s energy department to obtain generous grants for their clients. Solar in Spain has also introduced a financial package in association with a national bank offering 100% - interest free credit on all its products.

Solar in Spain has been established for 15 years and has thousands of satisfied customers who are enjoying the benefits of very low household bills as a result of installing a renewable energy system in their property.

Doors will open in Javea on Friday 27th November at 10am when coffee will be served.  The event will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm and is free to attend. Places are limited so we would ask everyone to pre-register by calling 96 285 4488 or by sending an email to info@solarinspain.com.

THE FACTS ABOUT INSTALLING A SOLAR ENERGY GRID-CONNECTED ELECTRICITY SYSTEM

Electricity bills have increased by an average of 20% each year over the past 5 years and the cost is likely to increase by similar amounts over the next few years.

Do I need permission from my utility company to install a system in my property?
Yes you do. This is very important and must not be overlooked. Permissions need to be obtained before the installation takes place. Every grid-connected electricity system needs authorisation from your electricity supplier and the Spanish Government.  Iberdrola is currently issuing fines for unauthorised installations so it is very important that your installation is completed correctly.

What is the life expectancy of a solar grid-connected electricity system?
A well designed solar system will easily last for 25-30 years. Both the solar panels and the inverters used by Solar in Spain are guaranteed for 25 years. Only the very best quality equipment will cope with the harsh environment.

Does solar energy only work on sunny days?
No. Solar panels do not need direct sunlight to work – they can still generate electricity on cloudy days. However, the stronger the sunshine the more electricity is produced.

What happens to the electricity that is produced but not used?
We can install equipment in your property that ensures 100% of your solar energy production is consumed at the property.  This maximises the financial return of your solar installation. If you decide you want to export electricity Iberdrola will buy back any solar electricity that is sent back to the grid.

Do I have to pay tax to the Government if I install a system?
In 2013 the government published a draft proposal which proposed a tax on electricity. This draft proposal was against European Union directives and was met with enormous opposition. On 9th October 2015 the Spanish Government updated this draft proposal stating that grid connected solar installations that produce less than 10kW per hour will not be taxed. This is excellent news for home owners as it has removed the threat of any type of solar tax.

Where can I find out more information?
Solar in Spain has been in business for 15 years. We complete all the paperwork for our clients and we are one of the few companies that actually ensure that their installations comply fully with the law. Our office and showroom is in the Pedreguer Industrial Estate, just off the N332. We are open from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and would be delighted to answer any questions. 2013 EU RENEWABLE ENERGY GRANTS ANNOUNCED - 1st April 2014
We have now been helping our clients to obtain European Grants grants for over 10 years. Our clients from 2013 have started receiving news about the latest round of European Union grants for their renewable energy installations and it is great news… grants have been maintained at their same level from 2012:

Solar water heating grant – 30% of investment

Solar electricity off-grid grant – 50% of investment

Biomass thermal grant – 50% of investment

Some installers continue to claim that grants no longer exist. Well, we’ve got news for you…they do! As long as the solar equipment is certificated with the Spanish Government and the paper work is all in order (we will complete the paper work on your behalf) the grants are ready and waiting.

SOLAR ENERGY SEMINARS - 23rd March 2014
Solar in Spain run regular public information seminars at various locations. The 2 hour seminars introduce the audience to the broad range of solar energy options and provide the opportunity for everyone to see the systems and first hand and to ask questions in an informal setting.
